Today, we celebrate the 50th anniversary of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day which has been celebrated annually since 1969. It has been established to be celebrated each year on the 17th of May. On this day, 144 years ago, the World Telegraph Association, the current World Telecommunication Union (ITU) was founded.
